For this week's edition of Ohio Future Stars, we took a look at an athlete who has made considerable jumps this season along with recently winning her home meet.
When reflecting back and comparing Campbell's opening performances between her freshman year (20:19.70) and this year (18:52.00), both at the same meet (Lakota East Fall Classic), it was apparent that she had made some serious progress between seasons, and it's been showing throughout this fall.
The sophomore has put up some respective marks, notably her current personal best of 18:21.40 at the Columbus North Classic in Indiana back in early September. Since then, she followed that up with a third-place finish at the absolute mud-fest of Saturday Night Lights, just behind notables Kaitlyn Reese (Avon 2026) and Sophia Szolosi (Athens 2026).
Recently winning her team's respective home meet, the Milford XC Invitational, she will be entering the post-season with a good chance of qualifying for the OHSAA State Championships for the first time, as she is currently the top seed for this weekend's ECC XC Championships and third seed for OHSAA Division 1 District - Voice of America.
