Jake Smith raced to a 17th place finish at the Wilmington College Fall Invitational
With a top 20 finish,
Jake Smith led John Carroll to an upper division showing Friday afternoon atthe Wilmington College Fall Invitational.
Results
Smith placed 17th overall with a time of 26:13.13, his best of the season on an 8,000-meter course. His points eabled John Carroll to place 12th out of 29 teams.
Tiffin won the team title with 40 points, followed by Findlay (65) and Centre (80). John Carroll scored 304 points.
Four other Blue Streaks finished in the top 100.
Chuck Mule was the second JCU runner to cross the line, placing 51st in a season-best 26:56.92.
Patrick Burns clocked in at 27:12.38 for a 63rd place showing.
Nick Wojtasik earned 74th place with a time of 27:24.60, while
Matt Tarchick was 99th in 28:07.19.
