This Week's Nominees:
Hunter Spangler, Liberty Center (Ohio): Won the shot put with a throw of 64-9 at the 2026 OHSAA Outdoor Championships, defeating a field of 86 competitors. Also competed in the discus, placing 7th with a mark of 178-8.
James Conrad, St. Ignatius (Ohio): Captured the discus title at the 2026 OHSAA Outdoor Championships with a winning throw of 194-0, leading a field of 87 competitors. The top-ranked junior in Ohio in the event threw over 15 feet farther than runner-up Hunter Spangler.
Latrell Hughes, Lexington (Ohio): Clocked 1:49.46 to win the 800 meters at the 2026 OHSAA Outdoor Championships, outrunning a field of 89 competitors.
Mason Englund, Fremont Ross (Ohio): Posted a winning time of 13.62 in the 110m hurdles at the 2026 OHSAA Outdoor Championships, taking the title over 88 competitors. The top junior in Ohio in the event secured his victory in the state's premier meet.
Luke Schnieber, Cin. Co. Day (Ohio): Cleared 17-5 to win the pole vault at the 2026 OHSAA Outdoor Championships, defeating a field of 70 vaulters. He leads all juniors in Ohio in the event this season.
