Campbell made a opening-season statement at the Claymont Early Bird Invitational, posting a time of 15:25.42, and winning the meet by nearly 25 seconds. This past weekend, he picked up another victory at the Newcomerstown Invitational. Campbell is coming off the outdoor season in which he posted a 1600m PB of 4:22.57 and a state meet qualification. He currently holds the top sophomore time in the state after two weeks of the cross country season.
Calvin Watson

After making a big statement as a freshman last year by placing 12th in the state, Watson has picked up his sophomore season rocking and rolling with consistency. He ran 15:45.98 to open his season at the Big Walnut Eagle Twilight. One week later he finished in 15:43.50 at the Mel Brodt Invite. Thom. Worthington looks to build on their 10th place finish at last year's state meet, and Watson could step up in this pursuit. Last outdoor season, he ran personal-bests of 4:32.60 in the 1600m and 9:24.93 over 3200m.
Maya Gonzalez

Let's talk about a major track season breakthrough that is paying off on the grass this fall for Maya Gonzalez. Last cross country season, she ran a respectable personal best of 18:38.81. During track, she gained even more momentum. Gonzalez took the runner-up spot at the state meet in the 1600m, running 4:54.90. She also ran a personal best of 2:14.18 in the 800m, which locked her in for another state meet qualification, where she placed fourth. It was a big season opener for Gonzalez at the Hoka Night XC Showcase, where she ran 18:12.20. She will be one to keep an eye on.
Audrey Miller

Miller may just be one of the biggest breakthrough stars in Ohio this year. She immediately turned heads when she ran an over-90-second personal best of 17:42.80 at the Hoka Night XC Showcase. But this massive improvement was not completely unexpected. She chipped away during the indoor and outdoor track season, landing with personal bests of 10:42.55 (3200m), 4:55.10 (Mile) and 2:16.07 (800m) by the end of the spring.
