Bryn Campbell, a senior at Canal Winchester High School, has chosen to continue his academic and throwing career at Ashland University. Bryn qualified to the OHSAA State Track and Field Championship in the discus throw last season, but his speciality lies in the Hammer Throw, an event not contested in the OHSAA trounament. Bryn placed 6th at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 195-2. Bryn also throws the 25lbs. Weight and qualified for the OATCCC State Indoor Track and Field Championship during the 2011 indoor season.
Bryn's personal best in the weight throw of 61-6 is the tenth best returning throw in the nation and the third best in the state of Ohio. During the 2011 high school season, Bryn shared the top mark in the hammer for Ohio with two other athletes, but during the summer/club season, Bryn was able to distance himself and secure the number one mark in the state in the hammer with a throw of 204-1. Bryn's mark of 204-1 is the third best returning mark in the nation, and the top returning mark in Ohio. Bryn also has a personal best throw of 154-10 in the Discus.
