SPIRE Scholastic Showcase THIS MEET WILL BE STREAMED LIVE BY MILESPLIT
February 14th, 2015 (Following the Division 1 Invitational)
SPIRE is hosting an ELITE HS Showcase meet that is designed to give the top athletes in the state of OHIO and surrounding region and Canada a chance to compete against each other in front of many NCAA Division 1 College coaches. The Track facility houses a 300m 8-lane Beynon 3000 surfaced track with a 10 lane sprint straight. In previous editions of this meet, USA HS #1 performances have come in the Girls 200m, 800m,1600m, and the Girls 4x4, the Boys 400m and Weight Throw. Many national qualifiers and other excellent times have been run on this extremely fast track. We will also utilize dual PV runways and pits in this meet in order to better Showcase those competing athletes.

Meet is OPEN to High School age students only! (Ages 13-19)
Entry Standards
Fields will be restricted.
Entry Guidelines that SPIRE will be using to determine the field are listed below:
1. First Priority: Returning Showcase Champions and State Champions.
2. 2nd: Current and Returning Milesplit national Elite Gold Standard Performers
3. 3rd: Athletes in the Top 10-12 on Ohio/Milesplit (or other States) Indoor Performance List.
4. 4th: Athletes who have attained the following: BOYS 1600 (4:32 indoor, 4:26 outdoor), 200 (23.2 i, 22.5 o), 400 (52.0 i, 50.1 o), 800 (2:02 i, 1:57 o), 3200 (9:40 i, 9:30 o), 60m(7.25), 60H (8.64), HJ (6'0), LJ (20'6), PV (13'0), Shot (47'0), Weight (48'). GIRLS 1600 (5:28 indoors, 5:22 outdoors), 200 (26.2 i, 25.5 o), 400 (61.0 i, 58.4 o), 800 (2:22.5 i, 2:18.5 o) 3200 (11:50 i, 11:32 o), 60m ((8.10), 60H (9.52), HJ (5'0), LJ (15'6), PV (10'0), Shot (35'0), Weight (35'0).
Field Size
Field size will be limited to approximately the top 24 athletes per event. This event is designed to be a quick, compact meet to highlight top athletes throughout the state of Ohio and surrounding region including Canada.
Accepted Athletes List
***** A Daily List of Accepted Athletes will be posted to our SPIRE Scholastic Showcase website to assist you in making travel arrangements and plans. Athletes will be accepted on a rolling admission basis. YOU MUST REGISTER AND ENTER via Milesplit in advance in order to be Accepted. There will be NO "on sight" entries allowed!
Entry Fee/Cost
$10 per relay and $5 per accepted athlete. This $5 payment also allows entry into the Spire Division 1 College Invitational Meet that will be finishing up prior to the HS Showcase meet. Teams competing in that Invitational include Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Navy, Michigan State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pitt, Guelph, Xavier, Akron, GA Tech, and Kent State to mention a few. As in past years, assume that most of these coaches will be staying to watch our Showcase athletes compete.
