LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Behind three individual titles on Saturday, the University of Louisville men's and women's track and field teams are each in first place after day one of competition at the BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Stiles Field House on the campus of the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.
The University of Notre Dame men's and women's track and field teams concluded the first day of the BIG EAST Indoor Championships at the Stile Athletics Field House in Akron, Ohio. The men currently sit in second place with 30 points, while the women are in 10th place (8 points). Junior Kevin Schipper won the pole vault (5.25m), making it his third-straight BIG EAST pole vault title.
Escaping the 35 degree weather and the wind that gusted up to 30 miles per hour, the Georgetown University track & field program went indoors to the Stiles Field House on the campus of the University of Akron for the first day of the BIG EAST Track & Field Indoor Championships. The facility that boasts a 320-meter six-lane flat track played host to the league championships and was quite the change of scenery from the famed Armory in New York where the championships has been held in years past. From today's prelim rounds, the Hoyas secured 21 spots in tomorrow's finals from 19 student-athletes in 15 different events.
