Slippery Rock University women’s track star #Whitney Hendershot# finished in 10th place in the high jump competition Saturday at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a week of preparation, senior high jumper Justin Gewirtz made his NCAA championship debut Friday afternoon on the campus of Capital University. Competing against some of the top high jumpers in Division III the USTFCCCA Mideast Region Field Athlete of the Year placed tied for ninth overall with his jump of 6-06.75 feet.

The senior from Marion, Mass. (Old Rochester High School) reset her school record with a throw of 56 feet even.
Illinois Wesleyan junior Lauren Alpert placed fourth in the long jump on the first day of the NCAA Division III national indoor track and field championships with a school record leap of 18 feet-10 3/4 inches.
