Gahanna Lincoln High School won the 4 x 200m competition in Akron.
The OATCCC Indoor State Championship was held in Akron on Saturday, March 4th and it brought Ohio's best track and field athletes to the Stile Athletics Field House on the campus of the University of Akron.
Previous recap articles focused on boys and girls field events in both D1 and D2 / D3, so today we will begin our review of some of the outstanding team relay performances that were demonstrated at the state championship meet.
In Girls D1 action, it was all Gahanna Lincoln as the Lions swept the relay events with victories in the 4 x 200m, 4 x 400m and 4 x 800m races.
Gahanna Lincoln and Mentor High School pushed each other to fast 4 x 400m times.
Finally, in the 4 x 800m race, Gahanna Lincoln held off Kings High School to record a 2 second victory with a finishing time of 9:18.58. This result represents an Ohio #1 and a U.S. #17 for the Lions.
Gahanna Lincoln High School won the state championship in the 4 x 800m Relay.
