Colonel Crawford's Chad Johnson will represent Iowa State University next year.
Congratulations to Colonel Crawford's Chad Johnson on finalizing his decision to compete for the Iowa State Cyclones next year! Johnson formally announced his plans this evening via his own Twitter page and upon learning the news, MileSplit Ohio was able to track him down to gather his thoughts. Johnson informed MileSplit Ohio that he is "incredibly excited about this upcoming opportunity and that he cannot wait to represent the Cyclones under the guidance of Martin Smith!"
Chad Johnson has had a remarkable cross country season to date, as he has posted 4 race wins in as many starts and he's broken the elusive 15 minute standard on two occasions. Johnson is currently ranked 3rd in Ohio and 12th in the country from his 14:54.88 effort at the Colonel Crawford Early Bird Invitational in August.
It is expected that Chad Johnson will make an immediate impact for the Cyclones upon his arrival in Ames. Again, congratulations Chad Johnson and good luck at Iowa State!
Prior to departing for Iowa State, Johnson will look to claim another XC state championship.
