This is about our Senior Boys. Every year Ohio has some of the Nations best High School boys Cross Country runners. We had some great performances last weekend at the State Meet. Eight Senior boys ran Top 30 times for the week and it was a hugh weekend of State Meets across the country.

The Ohio High School 2015 Cross Country season begins this weekend with the OHSAA Early Season Invitational at National Trails Raceway. This year, five of six champions return in the six Divisions. Here is a short Preseason preview of the Individuals and Teams by Division.
Ohio's Top 10 Boys Performances of the Week (2/9-2/15)
Hudson Sr. Kyle Mau is the OATCCC 2014 Boy's Cross Country Runner of the Year! Kyle had an impressive 2014 Cross Country season. He managed to finish 4th in the D1 Boy's State race, despite being ill, with a time of 15:43.46. He followed up his State run with a 19th at the Footlocker Midwest Regional (15:46.00) and a 10th in the Nike Cross National Midwest Regional, running a 15:19.90. He was ranked #1 in the State by time this year with a 15:15.17. In 2013, Kyle was 3rd in the OHSAA D1 race with a 15:41.65. On the track, Kyle has also proven that he is one of Ohio's best Distance runners. He has a 4:11.95 PR in the 1600 and was 6th in the 2013 D1 State race with a 4:13.19. In 2014, he ran 2nd in the 3200 with a 9:03.07.

The 2011 Midwest Meet of Champions should present a smorgasbord of Ohio's top cross country teams and distance runners with several teams from neighboring states to add some regional flavor to the meet that many regard as Ohio's best regular season competition of the season. Many of the top programs in the state attend this meet because of the high level of competition that is found here each fall. This year should be no different.

This past week was pretty quiet in the Cross Country Realms as many teams and individuals rested in preparation for their tournament run. Even with people and teams resting there was still some action from this past week that should be noted, let's take a look at those performances.
The 2009 version of the MMOC has all the key ingredients for a great day of elite team and individual cross country competition. The MMOC has a festive atmosphere with loud music, top ranked teams, great depth, top individuals from several states and a fan friendly course that has yielded some blazing times in years past.

The All Ohio Catholic Championship provided for some great feats in the Championship Races. Magnificat posted a perfect 15 team score, while Kevin Yarnell (pictured left, from St. Johns Jesuit) and Marty Coolidge (pictured next to Yarnell, from Elyria Catholic) provided excitement in the boys race as both boys ran 15:17, with Yarnell just edging out Coolidge at the line.
