Staying the Course Part Two- Sydney Leiher's Blog About Transitioning to College

Hi! Life has been going pretty well up here at Syracuse. On the running side workouts have been going really well. On the academic side I took my first college exams that turned out well too! Not much has changed since my last post, other than I had my first experience racing on the college level. We opened up the season at a smaller local meet in New York and it reminded me of high school, but then the next two meets we went to were absolutely huge and it was pretty overwhelming at first. One thing I have really enjoyed about running in college is the amount you get to travel. In high school it was a huge deal to get to compete in another state but its awesome now how almost all the meets we go to we fly, and they are far away. Another transition from high school running to college running is that in college you race way less. At this time in the year in high school I would have already raced 5 to 6 times but in college we have raced 3 times, and only 1 of the meets has been a major invitational. Our next race is the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational at the University of Wisconsin.
