Boy's D1-A Varsity

The Boys D1 race was fast, with St. Xavier Sr. Michael Vitucci pulling ahead of St. Ignatius Jr. Luke Wagner and Dublin Jerome Jr. Bradley Davis in the woods.  The three were all under 15:30 with Vitucci's 15:22.26 jumping to the top of the state rankings. 

St. Xavier, led by Vitucci and St. Ignatius, led by Wagner, tied for the team title with 102 points. The Ignatius boy's took the team title as their  6th man was 39th and St. Xaviers's was 60th.  The Ignatius boys ran 2, 13, 25, 28, 34 and 39th. The Xavier boy's ran 1, 5, 10, 40, 46  and 60th.  New Albany was 3rd with 155 led by 4th place finisher Sr. Dennis Maloney (15:38.69).

 

Girl's D1-A Varsity

Jr. Lainey Studebaker of Centerville pulled away in the last mile and won the D1 girl's race with an 18:11.08.  Notre Dame Academy Jr. Stephanie Sherman was 2nd in 18:27.86 and Butler Sophomore Emma Bryant was 3rd in 18:32.96.

The Centerville Girls, led by Studebaker and 4th place finisher, Freshman Kelli Walsh (1:36.48), won the team title with a 92.  The girls ran 1, 4, 18, 34 and 35th.  Perrysburg was 2nd (104) and Nordonia was 3rd (199).

 

Boy's D2 Varisty

 

Senior 's Ryan Adams of CVCA and Joe Rosetti of SVSM finished one-two in the race running 15:41.37 and 15:43.27.  They were followed by Sr. Quintin Reiser of Wauseon who ran 15:47.99.

Notre Dame Cathedral Latin pulled out the team win scoring 109 points.  They were led by 4th place fiisher Mick Stanovsek (16:06.19).  They ran 4, 13, 24, 31 and 37th.

 

Girl's D2 - A Varsity

The girl's D2 race was dominated by Lexington's Dom Clairmonte.  The junior, who was injured last year, is undefeated this season and ran 18:11.93 in winning by 33 seconds over Lexington sophomore Ma Curtis-Collins. Curtis-Collins ran 18:44.76 as she finished a step ahead of Jr. Rachel Iacofano of SVSM who ran 18:45.09.

In what could be considered as an upset, the Granville Girls won a close team race with 70 points.  SVSM was right behind them with 73 points. The Granville girl's ran 6, 7, 14, 21 and 22nd as they were led by Clairmonte and Curtis-Collins.  The SVSM girl's ran 3, 11, 15, 16 and 28th being led by #6 Jr. Micaela DeGenaro (19:17.29) and #7 Sr Claire Lamb (19:21.20).   Lexington was 3rd with 99 points.

 

Boy's D3 - A Varsity

Maplewood Jr.'s Allen Sparks and Tristan Dahmen ran 1,2 for Maplewood.  Sparks finished a half step ahead of Dahmen in winning with a time of 15:58.01 to Dahmen's 15:58.04.  The two were 9 seconds ahead of third place finisher Sr. Jon Wenning of Coldwater (16:07.42). 

Sparks and Dahmen led Maplewood to a runaway team win as Maplewood scord 75 points to runner up Garaway's 175.  The Maplewood boys ran 1, 2, 12, 26, and 34th.  Berkshire was 3rd with 217 points.

 

Girl's D3 Varsity

Sr.'s Sarah Kanney of Coldwater and Brittany Atkinson of Liberty Center know each other well having battled against each other from their freshman year on.  Kanney won yesterday as the two led the entire race.  Atkinson pushed Kanney to a State leading time of 17:57.87 as she ran 17:59.78.  The two finished 33 seconds ahead of St. Thomas Aquina Jr. Athena Welsh who ran 18:32.75.

Minster, led by 8th place finisher, Sophomore Morgan Pohl (19:25.64) won the team title scoring 104.  The Minster gir's ran 8, 13, 20, 30, and 33rd to outdistance runer up Berkshire who scored 166.  Russia, led by the #5 finisher, Sr. Emily Borchers was 3rd with 200.
