Zach Kreft finished 2nd at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional with his time of 15:05.40.
Ohio's athletes made their presence known at yesterday's Foot Locker Midwest Regional in Kenosha, Wisconsin, as three of the state's top runners earned coveted invitations to the upcoming Foot Locker Nationals at Balboa Park in California.
Zach Kreft (DII Ohio State Champ), Matt Scrape (DI Ohio State 3rd place finisher) and Chad Johnson (DIII Ohio State Champ) will all have the opportunity to test themselves against the country's best at the National Championship in San Diego on December 9th due to their top 10 results at Saturday's Regional meet.
Kreft finished 2nd in 15:05.40, Scrape took 4th in 15:07.20 and Johnson placed 6th with his 15:08.40 effort. The Ohio trio will now look to add one more impressive accomplishment to their already decorated cross country careers when they encounter the top competitors coming together from the North, South, Midwest and West Regions in a few weeks time.
Zach Kreft is the country's top ranked 5K runner from his 14:29.95 result at the MMOC.
Matt Scrape is one of 5 Ohio athletes to run under 15 minutes in the 5K distance this season.
Chad Johnson, the two time DIII Ohio State Champ, will compete for Iowa State next year.
