Among the standout performers during day 1 competition at OHSAA Division III - Westerville North was ladies high jump champion Mallory Mullen.
Mullen, a junior representing Springfield Catholic Central, claimed her title in record setting fashion. Her successful 5-10.25 clearance overtook previous Division III state record holder Brooke Mangas (Ottoville), who produced a 5-10 effort at the 2016 state meet.
Mullen's victory is her second straight outdoor state championship. She earned the 2019 triumph by clearing 5-7.
