Zach Sherman, Amari Kiluvia Net Performer Of The Week Wins

Our polls closed on Friday morning for the first edition of the MileSplit Ohio Performer of the Week during the 2022 indoor track and field season.

It was a pair of Central Region athletes who secured the nods following their work at last week's Ohio State Buckeye Qualifier Meet No. 1

Zachary Sherman and Amari Kiluvia produced 60m dash finals winning marks of 6.96 and 7.84, respectively. The duo were equally as impressive in their prelims openers, as well, with matching first place finishes.

Olentangy Berlin's Sherman started his day with a 6.97 effort to prevail in Section 3 and Kiluvia recorded a career best 7.82 during her Section 1 victory. Kiluvia, an Eastmoor Academy junior, also took the Buckeye Qualifier title in the 60m hurdles contest going 9.02 in the finals. Her opening round mark of 9.29 was the fastest of the prelims.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the polls - in total, more than 2000 votes were cast. Look out for our next Performer of the Week release on Monday.
