Girls Recap

For the girls competing at Findlay, the performances were even more standout than the boys, with two state records going down by Ohio Speed Academy teammates Camden Bentley (Gahanna Lincoln 2023) in the 60m Hurdles with an 8.48 performance, shaving off .01 seconds from her old state record set last year, and Juliette Laracuente-Huebner (Mar. Highland 2023) in the Triple-Jump with a mark of 41'-8.5", the first clearance ever over 40' in the event in Ohio.

To top off, both of them did other events as well. Laracuente-Huebner set a new personal best in the high jump with a 5-9 clearance, a performance which puts her #7 all-time in Ohio for indoors, and took 4th in the 60m Hurdles with an 8.81 performance. Bentley also set new personal bests in the 60m Dash with a 7.91, and 1:01.73 in the 400m Dash.

Over on the sprints, both the depth and results were impressive. Outside of Bentley's state record performance, there were other standout names and performances in the 60m Hurdles, with 5 entering the rankings with US Top-10 performances after that race.

The list goes as follows:

Summer Swartwout (Colerain 2024) opened up her indoor campaign with two victories in the 60m Dash in 7.62 and the 200m Dash with 25.81, with that 60m Dash performance putting her US #4 in the event.

Over on the infield, Mara Pearson (Ft. Recovery 2024) and Daisha Decree (Gah. Lincoln 2023) set marks of over 17' in the long-jump, with Decree taking the victory with a 17'-7.5" mark. Over at Defiance College, Kylie Adams (Bellefontaine 2025) jumped over 16' to open her season in the long jump.

Returning to Findlay, Tru Buddenberg (Greenon 2023), went 12'-00" by Megan Rybitski (Wayne 2023), who cleared 11'-00".

Distance side, the highlight of the weekend was Alexa Fortman (Ottawa-Glandorf 2023), who is fresh off a historic cross season for Ottawa-Glandorf and opened up her indoor track season with an 800m Run in 2:20.99.

Relays, Wayne threw down an impressive 1:48.74 to open their season. With a performance like this early in the season, they are definitely one to look forward to in these coming months.
