-Tell us how your summer training is going?
My summer training is going great. I just recently got back from an Athletes in Action camp called TUFF Camp. It was an amazing experience; I got to meet a lot of great runners from different states and learned how to combine running with the spiritual aspect in life.
-What are your goals for the upcoming season?
My time goal for the upcoming season is to go sub 18:00 again, but I also hope to stay positive throughout all of my runs because it makes it more fun for everyone on the team if there is always positive energy.
-How long have you been running and how did you get started?
I started running Cross Country and Track in 7th grade. This is mainly because in 6th we had to run a mile time trial in gym and they told me I had broken the school record with a time of 5:58. I was shocked and I could not feel my legs the rest of the day, but I still decided to run in Junior High.
-Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?
Yes, I plan on competing at Foot Locker Regionals in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
-What is your favorite course to run in Ohio?
I like the course that we run in Tiffin because it is mainly trails and there is always good competition at the meet.
-What is the toughest course to run in Ohio?
The toughest course to run is the regional meet held in Troy because there are always really strong winds and competitors.
-What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?
GWOC (Greater Western Ohio Conference) because it is our conference meet and we always want to compete well at that.
-What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career?
That is a tough choice because I have two so far. My first one is Foot Locker my freshman year. It was freezing cold and the course has a ton of hills, but I finished in 20th and came across the finish line smiling- though that could have been because my mouth was frozen that way. The second one is the GWOC meet last year when I broke 18 minutes.
-Favorite cross country memory?
My favorite cross country memory is from state my freshman year when I came off the course and my teammates made a tunnel for me to run through followed by a huge group hug J. My teammates are awesome
-When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?
EAT!
-Favorite quote?
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” –Philippians 4:13
-What's on your IPod when you go out for runs?
LeCrae, and also No Boundaries by Kris Allen
-What professional athlete would you most like to meet?
I am not sure, but I would like to meet one whose faith is as strong (if not stronger) than their passion for running.
