-Tell us how your summer training is going?

My summer training has gone really great.  I have had the best opportunity to run with many talented friends, and I am super excited for the season to start!

-What are your goals for the upcoming season?

This year I really want to focus on staying healthy, so I can leave everything on the course.

-How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I started running on the Saint Joan of Arc team through CYO in the fifth grade.  I was inspired by an amazing coach, and I developed a true love for the sport.

-Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?

Nope, not me.  I will be staying close to home this year to race.

-What is your favorite course to run in Ohio?

I can honestly say, I don't have a favorite.  I just love to lace up my shoes and run.

-What is the toughest course to run in Ohio?

The toughest course to run in Ohio is the State Meet course at National Trails Raceway.  It is very flat and extremely fast.  For me, the more hills, the better.

-What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?

I would really like my team and I to do well at the Gilmour Invitational.  We take a lot of pride in representing our school.  It's hosted by our Gilmour family, and we enjoy every minute.

-What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career?

I really enjoy the George Clements University School Invitational.  It's low-key and very challenging.  I love running through the woods and uphill.

-Favorite cross country memory?

My all-time favorite memory was at the Gilmour Invitational last year.  It was my first meet back from having mono, and I won.  But, the best part was crossing the finish line completely covered in mud.  When my teammates were coming in, we could hardly recognize each other!

-When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?

When I'm not running, I like to spend time with my family and friends.  I love playing beach volleyball and wakeboarding.

-Favorite quote?

"Be humble in victory, and gracious in defeat."

-What's on your Ipod when you go out for runs?

I like an eclectic mix of alternative, hip-hop, reggae and classic rock.  If I can dance to it, I can run to it.

-What professional athlete would you most like to meet?

I would really love to meet Bridget Franek.  She has had incredible success, and comes from a small town-like me.  She's down-to-earth and an amazing role model.  She always seems to have a smile on her face, and there are few people I admire more.
