High-school track: A Reynoldsburg ritual May 26, 2012

PICKERINGTON — Apparently, the Reynoldsburg girls track program has risen to such a lofty stature, regional championships no longer even warrant a victory lap. With sprinter Destinee Gause and hurdler Faith Washington leading the charge, the Raiders — three-time defending state champions — won their fifth consecutive Division I regional title last night at Pickerington North.Business as usual. Division I boys track: Pickerington North wins first title May 26, 2012

PICKERINGTON — For at least 20 minutes after the final event in the Division I regional boys track meet yesterday, Pickerington North coach Dave Spring sat on the football field nervously awaiting some kind of answer from referees, rival coaches — anybody — as to who won the team championship. Panthers junior hurdler Desmond Palmer took on the detective role, asking athletes from rival teams what happened to cause a yellow flag to be raised in the 1,600-meter relay. Finally, after a lengthy discussion by meet officials, no one was disqualified, and Pickerington North — second in the relay — was awarded its first regional title.  (via http://www.dispatch.com/)
