Dustin Horter & Sophie Carrier Take Wins At The Mid-East XC Championship

           Dustin Horter and Sophie Carrier claimed the race wins at the Mid-East Championship. 


Team Ohio's Dustin Horter and Sophie Carrier recorded 1st place finishes at yesterday's Mid-East Cross Country Championship at the Indian Riffle Course in Kettering where they were competing against top senior athletes from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan.  

Horter continued his exceptional season by taking his 10th win in 11 starts.  His 15:51.00 clocking at the Mid-East Championship was nine seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher from Michigan.  Horter, the #2 ranked 5K runner in the U.S., is training for the upcoming Nike Cross Nationals meet in Oregon.  


           Dustin Horter was the only athlete in the field to run under the 16 minute standard. 


Carrier posted a winning time of 18:25.00 to finish 6 seconds ahead of the runner-up from Illinois.  This latest win represents Carrier's 5th of the season.  The University of Kentucky signee is ranked 16th in Ohio from her 17:52.70 result at the Medina District meet. 


           Sophie Carrier was among four Team Ohio athletes who finished in the top 10.
