Boys Javelin Throw Emerging Elite

Matthias Tayala, a junior from McDonald, won the Emerging Elite category in the Javelin throw with a personal best mark of 177-1.

 

Boys Freshman 1 Mile Run

Versailles Freshman Samuel Prakel captured the crown in the Freshman 1 Mile run, crossing the line in a meet record time of 4:17.46.  Of note is that Prakel's enroute time at the 1500m mark was 4:00.26.

 

Friday Results

Boys 110m Shuttle Hurdle Championship

The Huber Heights Track Club (Wayne High School) team consisting of seniors, Demoye Bogle, Bear Westmoreland, Dwayne Taylor and junior Trey Hammons-Scott finished third in a time of 1:00.23.

 

Boys 4x800 Meter Relay Emerging Elite

The Mason Track Club team conisisting of senior Matt Kahl and juniors Tate Honaker, Zach Wills and Matt Kincaid finished third with a time of 8:03.37.

 

Girls 4x200 Meter Relay Championship

The Walnut Hills team of sophomore Laura Rose, junior Tiffany Caldwell and seniors Ashley Liverpool and Shauniece Steele finished sixth in their heat and 8th overall with a time of 1:39.94.

 

The team of freshman Diamond Gause, sophomores Destinee Gause and Faith Washington and junior Kacia Grant from Reynoldsburg finished with a time of 1:39.73 to finish second in their heat and 6th overall.

 

And the winners of the Girls 4x200 Meter Relay Championship are the girls from Bishop Hartley with a time of 1:37.93.  The team consisted of senior Chesna Sykes and juniors Maya Pedersen, Chelsea Scott and Aisha Cavin.

Boys 4x200 Meter Relay Championship

 Mason TC finished third in their heat and 7th overall with a time of 1:28.64.  The team conisted of Junior Mapati, Alex Hamm, Chris Lehman and Scott Strait, who are all seniors.

 

Boys 1 Mile Run Emerging Elite

Peter Hix of Oakwood finished 17th in the boys Emerging Elite 1 Mile Run with a time of 4:29.22

 

 

Boys 110 Meter Hurdles Emerging Elite

 Rocky River senior Joe Hanigosky finished 32nd in the prelims with a time of 15.65

 

 

Boys Hammer Throw Championship

Canfield's Dustin Brode, a senior, finished fourth in the Hammer throw with a heave of 199-6.

 

Girls 400 Meter Run Emerging Elite

Bishop Hartley junior Maya Pedersen finished 24th overall with a time of 58.59.

 

Girls 1600 Sprint Medley Championship

The team from Walnut Hills, consisting of freshman Maryn Lowry, sophomore Laura Rose and seniors Ashley Liverpoll and Shauniece Steele finished 9th overall with a time of 4:03.39.

 

The Maple Leaf TC (consisting of members of West Geauga) finished 12th overall with a time of 4:09.91.  The team consisted of juniors Kelly Williams and Kori Chapic as well as seniors Allison Tyree and Aly Platek.

 

 

Girls 100 Meter Dash Championship

Chesna Sykes of Bishop Hartley, a senior, qualified for the finals with the 8th fastest time after finishing second in her heat with a time of 11.74.

 

In the finals Chesna Sykes finished in 7th place with a time of 11.68

 

Girls 100 Meter Hurdles Championship Prelims

Reynoldsburg sophomore Faith Washington finished 11th in the prelims with a personal record time of 14.26.

 

Junior Chelsea Scott of Bishop Hartley finished 14th in the prelims with a time of 14.33.

 

 

Boys Discus Throw Championship

Ohio Boys finished 5-6-7-8 in this event.  Starting with 8th place, senior Dustin Brode of Canfield tossed the 1.6k plate 169-9 after already finishing fourth in the hammer throw earlier in the day.

 

Coming off a win in the Emerging Elite Javelin competition the day before, junior Matthias Tayala of McDonald finished 7th with a throw of 169-11.

 

Finishing in 6th place was junior Connor Neu of Midpark with a toss of 177-6.

 

And in fifth place and the top Ohio finisher in the Discus, Sandusky Perkins senior Matt Hoty finished with a throw of 179-5.

 

Girls Pole Vault Championship

Senior Sarah Rasnick of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy finished tied for 20th by clearing 11-4.25.

 

Boys 110 Meter Hurdles Championship Prelims

Berea sophomore Donovan Robertson finished 14th in the prelims with a time of 14.21.

 

Shaker Heights junior Elijha Owens finished 18th in the prelims with a time of 14.83.

 

Waquiem Comar, a senior from Twinsburg finished 25th in the prelims with a time of 14.71.

 

Girls Shot Put Championship

Junior Jackie Leppelmeier of McComb finished in 6th place with a throw of 45-1.5.

 

Reynoldsburg junior Donyelle Brown finished in 11th place with a personal record throw of 43-3.25.

 

Jessica Molyet, a senior from St. Joseph Central Catholic finished in 17th place with a toss of 38-1.25

 

Girls High Jump Championship Qualifying

Medina junior Taylor Burke finished tied for 6th with a jump of 5-6.25 to qualify to the finals on Saturday.

 

Girls 4x100 Meter Relay Emerging Elite Prelims

The team from Walnut Hills, which is made up of sophomore Laura Rose, junior Brianna Woods and seniors Ashley Liverpool and Shauniece Steele, won their heat and qualified for the finals with the second fastest time at 48.03

 

Girls 4x100 Meter Relay Championship Prelims

The Reynoldsburg team conisisting of junior Kacia Grant, sophomore Destinee Gause and freshmen Diamond Gause and Yamonie Jenkins finished fourth in their heat and with the fourth fastest time in the prelims by clocking a 47.30.

 

The Bishop Hartley girls team won their heat and have the fastest qualifying time with a 46.47.  The team is made up of senior CharAnna Dixon and Chesna Sykes and juniors Aisha Cavin and Chelsea Scott.

 

 

Boys 2 Mile Run Emerging Elite

Medina junior David Knack finished with a time of 10:14.63 which placed him 14th overall.

 

Boys 4x800 Meter Relay Championship

The boys from GlenOak finished in 7th place by running a season best time of 7:40.21.  The team consisted of seniors Kyle Esber, JB DeRosa, Christian Jones and Marcus Mazzaferri.

 

The Wadsworth boys squad of junior Russell McCune and seniors Jacob Sussman, Aaron Tipton and Jake Hiltner finished in 14th place with a time of 7:49.28.

Boys 4x1 Mile Relay Championship

The Mason boys team of seniors Matt Kahl and Eric Hauser and juniors Matt Kincaid and Zach Wills placed 8th in a time of 17:42.93.

 

Girls Distance Medley Relay Championship

The girls from Stow-Munroe Falls finished 11th overall with a time of 12:33.48, the team was made up of sophomores Katee Wensinger and Kelly Mook, junior Katie Betts and senior Jessica DuHamel.

 

Girls 800 Sprint Medley Championship

Finishing 2nd with a time of 1:42.87 was the team from Walnut HIlls that consisted of sophomore Laura Rose, junior Tiffany Caldwell and seniors Ashley Liverpool and Shauniece Steele.

 

Girls Hammer Throw Championship

McComb junior Jackie Leppelmeier finished 9th with a personal best throw of 138-10.

 

Junior Carly Pendleton of Woodmore finished in 11th place with a toss of 129-4.

 

Jessica Molyet, a senior from St. Joseph Central Catholic finished in 18th place with a throw of 103-11.

 

Boys Pole Vault Championship

Olentangy Liberty juniors Chris and Joey Uhle finished 4th and 7th respectively with both clearing 16-0.  Chris was clean through 16-0, while Joey finished in 7th place based on misses.

 

Girls 800 Meter Run Emerging Elite

 West Geauga senior Aly Platek finished 13th with a time of 2:18.30.

 

Girls 800 Meter Run Championship

Gilmour Academy senior Bekka Simko won her heat and finished 4th overall in a personal record time of 2:09.04.

 

Sophomore Natalie Zidd from Medina Highland finished fourth in her heat and 14th overall with a time of 2:10.90.

 

Taneisha Cordell, a junior from New Albany finished in 17th place with a season best time of 2:11.59.

 

Stow-Munroe Falls junior Katie Betts finished 20th overall with a time of 2:15.10.

 

 

Boys 800 Meter Run Championship

Jake Hiltner, a senior from Wadsworth finished third with a personal record time of 1:50.42.

 

Girls 400 Meter Hurdles Championship

 Midpark junior Kaila Barber finished second in her heat and 3rd overall with a time of 1:00.08.

 

West Geauga junior Kori Chapic finished third in her heat and 24th overall with a time of 1:03.74.

 

Girls Discus Throw Championship

Woodmore junior Carly Pendleton threw the discus 141-2 to finish 5th in the competition.

 

Jackie Leppelmeier, a junior from McComb finished in 12th place with a toss of 127-1.

 

Senior Jessica Molyet of St. Joseph Central Catholic finished 17th by garnering a mark of 125-0 on her final throw.

 

Boys 400 Meter Hurdles Championship

Twinsburg senior Waquiem Comar finished second in his heat and 9th overall with a time of 53.69.

 

Junior Elijha Owens of Shaker Heights finished third in his heat with a time of 53.82, which was good enough for 12th overall.

 

Boys 400 Meter Run Championship

Glenville junior Quincy Downing finished first in his heat and 7th overall with a personal record of 47.77.

 

Girls 200 Meter Dash Championship

Bishop Hartley senior Chesna Sykes won her heat in a time of 24.25 to qualify for finals with the fifth fastest time.  Sykes finished in 7th place in the finals with a time of 24.32.

 

Sophomore Destinee Gause of Reynoldsburg finished second in her heat with a time of 24.35 to qualify for the finals with the sixth fastest time.  In the finals Gause finished in fourth place in a time of 24.13.

 

Aisha Cavin, a junior from Bishop Hartley finished third in her heat and 12th overall with a time of 24.84.

 

Girls 4x400 Meter Relay Championship

The relay team consisting of juniors Aisha Cavin, Maya Pedersen and Chelsea Scott as well as senior Chesna Sykes from Bishop Hartley finished fourth in their heat and 5th overall with a season best and Ohio leading time of 3:48.08.

 

The girls from Midpark finished fifth in their heat and 10th overall with a time of 3:53.83.  The team consisted of senior Corine Pasela and juniors Jade Barber, Val Shymske and Anna Lobas.

 

The Maple Leaf TC which consists of juniors Kori Chapic and Kelly Williams and seniors Aly Platek and Allison Tyree, whom are all from West Geaega, finished second in their heat with a season best time of 3:56.19 to finish second in their heat and 15th overall.

 

Boys 4x400 Meter Relay Championship

The Mason team consisting of seniors Chris Lehman, Junior Mapati, Alex Hamm and Andrew Galyan-Mann ran a season best time of 3:18.20 to win their heat and finish 13th overall.

 

Boys 1 Mile Run Championship

Strongville senior Colby Alexander finished 5th in a time of 4:09.61.

The girls from Walnut Hills finished 2nd with a season best time of 47.87.

The Bishop Hartley team finished 2nd with a season best and Ohio leading time of 46.25

 

Reynoldsburg finished 3rd with a season best time of 46.49.
