1. Girls Division 1 4x400m Relay
Prelims: 7:15pm Friday
Finals: 6:40pm Saturday
Three teams have already gone sub 3:50, and two of those three teams have a legitimate shot at going after the State Record, set last year by Cincinnati Walnut HIlls in a time of 3:45.89. Both Reynoldsburg Cincinnati Withrow have run within two seconds of the State Record. If it comes down to the 4x400m Relay for a team title, this could be a very fast race.
2. Girls Division 1 4x800m Relay
Finals: 4:45pm Friday
The Magnificat Girls have almost perfected distance running at the Championship level, and the 4x800m Relay is no exception for them. Magnificat alreay owns the fastest time in Ohio and the fifth fastest time in the nation (9:07.20). The State Record of 9:03.86 is within reach for this group of ladies.
3. Girls Division 3 4x400m Relay
Prelims: 12:00pm Friday
Finals: 11:40pm Saturday
This is really a three team race invovling Stuebenville Catholic Central, Gilmour Academy, and Fort Loramie. All three teams have ran in the 3:57's this year and will be eying that State Record of 3:55.48, set by Gilmour Academy in 2007. In fact, three of Gilmour's four runners were on the 2007 4x400m team that set the State Record.
4. Girls Division 2 4x100m Relay
Prelims: 2:50pm Friday
Finals: 1:50pm Saturday
Bishop Hartley returns their full squad that set the State Record last season and are by far the favorites, having run nearly two seconds faster than the next best team in the Division 2 meet. The big question is have fast can the squad go this year.
5. Girls Division 1 4x200m and 4x100m Relays
Prelims: 4x2-5:45pm Friday, 4x1-6:05pm Friday
Finals: 4x2-4:45pm Saturday, 4x1-5:20pm Saturday
This is a toss up because the Withrow girls set State Records in both the 4x200m and 4x100m Relays at the Mason District a few weeks ago, can they do it again at state meet? The Withrow girls are just plain fast and could put on one heckuva show in the relays. Barring any baton mishaps, after Withrow in these races, it really is a toss up as to who will finish in second and third.
