Kristin Groppe took a resounding win in the Division III race at last year's OHSAA District Cross Country - Malone University meet. Then a sophomore, Groppe posted a time of 19:26.00 and put a nineteen second gap on runner-up, Alexis Cunningham of East Palestine.
Later in the 2017 season, Groppe went on to finish twelfth at the DIII State Championship meet and she competed in the open contest at the Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional.
This year, the Lutheran West athlete has collected three victories and established her pr of 18:58.20 at the Patriot Athletic Conference meet.
