Tasty Race: Malachi Collier Posts U.S. No. 7 7.93 60H Effort

Malachi Collier was off to a hot start in the early stages of the 2022 indoor season, but he took it to another level last Thursday at SPIRE.

Competing in Section 1 of the 60m hurdles finals, the junior from Maple Heights was solid out of the blocks, clean over every barrier and leaned through the line en route to posting a U.S. No. 7 7.93 mark for the win at NEOITC Red Division No. 2.

Aside from being a national-level performer in the hurdles event, the diversely talented Collier is on the short-list of Ohio's top long jumpers (currently ranked at No. 2 in the state due to his 23-1.25 showing at the VA Showcase) and he's also taken high quality reps at the 60m, 200m and 400m dashes during the '22 campaign.

Following his 60H triumph at Red Division, Collier lined up in the 400 and the 60, pocketing second and third place finishes with times of 52.04 and 7.18.
