Tasty Race: Gianna Cameron Captures Wittenberg 60 Finals Win

Among the state's standout performers from meets taking place over the past week was Wayne's Gianna Cameron.

The Warriors senior picked up a pair of meet titles at Wittenberg High School No. 2, a 7.65 effort in the 60m dash and an 18-3.25 mark during long jump competition.

Additionally, Cameron led the 60 meter preliminary round with a 7.77 clocking and also placed 3rd in the 200m timed finals with a sub-26 second showing (25.99). Her 200m mark represents a career best.

Running out of lane 4 in the 60 finals, Cameron outlasted a stellar field en route to the triumph. Her time was just .03 off of her season's best 7.62, which she hit at the Logan Chieftain Center Rust Buster, where she also claimed 1st place honors.

Cameron's efforts at Wittenberg put her in contention for the latest MileSplit Ohio Performer of the Week distinction.
