Distance
In the Championship Division, Audrey DeSantis collected valuable race experience against some of the country's best distance runners, including Jenna Mulhern and Angelina Perez.
The Division 2/3 state champion in the 3200m event recorded a 10:51.81 mark over the full 2 Mile distance to place 5th overall in a contest that should pay big dividends for her during the spring track season.
Pyper Gibson punctuated her 2022 indoor season with a pair of runner-up finishes in the National Elite Division.
The Division 2/3 1600m champion posted times of 5:10.65 and 10:59.68 over the full 1 and 2 Mile distances.
Jumps
Ohio's all-time state record holder indoors Kenna Stimmel vaulted 13-9.5 to take the national silver following a spirted battle with event champion Tessa Mudd (14-1.25).
Taking 7th in the competition was the pride of SPIRE Academy Anjali Mead, who successfully cleared 12-2.5. In the National Elite Division, Ainsley Hamsher went 11-11.75 to earn the victory.
Pierce Doyle leaped 6-7 (2.01m) to earn second overall in the Championship Division high jump event. The state's leader at 6-8 wraps up a season which included five invitational titles.
Throws
As has been the case all season long, the Morlock brothers from Norwayne did damage in the throws events.
Colby, the D2/3 state champion in the shot put, claimed second in that competition with a 59-9 mark to go along with his 3rd place effort in the weight throw (61-5.75).
Dillon took 3rd in the shot put with a new personal best throw of 58-7.25 and 10th in the weight with a 52-2.5 mark. He captured D2/3 state meet gold two weeks earlier with a huge 66-5 effort.
The Norwayne-based success didn't stop there, as Grace Sparks claimed runner-up honors in the Championship Division weight throw contest with a 47-11.25 (14.61m) performance.
Relay
The team from Chardon-Notre Dame Cathedral Latin produced a time of 3:39.54 to win the 1600m Sprint Medley Relay in the National Elite Division.
