Indoor Season Wrap-Up: Recapping Ohioans At adidas Nationals

Distance

In the Championship Division, Audrey DeSantis collected valuable race experience against some of the country's best distance runners, including Jenna Mulhern and Angelina Perez.

The Division 2/3 state champion in the 3200m event recorded a 10:51.81 mark over the full 2 Mile distance to place 5th overall in a contest that should pay big dividends for her during the spring track season.

Pyper Gibson punctuated her 2022 indoor season with a pair of runner-up finishes in the National Elite Division.

The Division 2/3 1600m champion posted times of 5:10.65 and 10:59.68 over the full 1 and 2 Mile distances.

Jumps

Ohio's all-time state record holder indoors Kenna Stimmel vaulted 13-9.5 to take the national silver following a spirted battle with event champion Tessa Mudd (14-1.25).

Taking 7th in the competition was the pride of SPIRE Academy Anjali Mead, who successfully cleared 12-2.5. In the National Elite Division, Ainsley Hamsher went 11-11.75 to earn the victory.

Pierce Doyle leaped 6-7 (2.01m) to earn second overall in the Championship Division high jump event. The state's leader at 6-8 wraps up a season which included five invitational titles.

Throws

As has been the case all season long, the Morlock brothers from Norwayne did damage in the throws events.

Colby, the D2/3 state champion in the shot put, claimed second in that competition with a 59-9 mark to go along with his 3rd place effort in the weight throw (61-5.75).

Dillon took 3rd in the shot put with a new personal best throw of 58-7.25 and 10th in the weight with a 52-2.5 mark. He captured D2/3 state meet gold two weeks earlier with a huge 66-5 effort.

The Norwayne-based success didn't stop there, as Grace Sparks claimed runner-up honors in the Championship Division weight throw contest with a 47-11.25 (14.61m) performance.

Relay

The team from Chardon-Notre Dame Cathedral Latin produced a time of 3:39.54 to win the 1600m Sprint Medley Relay in the National Elite Division.
