For the final highlight of this recap, we took to the night lights from Wingfoot XC Classic, where Beavercreek put together more than just solid performances and high-placing team scores last weekend in Georgia.

They took home the coveted Wingfoot Cup, which was awarded to the school with the best combined team scores between both the Championship Boys and Championship Girls races.

Starting with the boys, they took second overall right behind Jesuit, who are also currently the top team from Louisiana, and finished ahead of Georgia's #8 team, Marist.

Leading the group, Jackson Davis (Beavercreek 2026), who is continuing his consistency of sub-16 performances this season, put up a 13th place finish with a time of 15:42.00. For the second to fifth runner, they were all relatively close to each other, with a difference of just a little over 20 seconds. With that being said, they also put up the best 1-5 split in the Championship Race.

For anyone who may not be familiar with what a "1-5 split" is in cross-country, it is the time difference between the first and fifth runner.

For the girls, they placed fifth overall against some solid competition, including eventual champions Brentwood, who were ranked 18th on the COROS MileSplit50 Preseason Girls Team Rankings, along with Georgia's #1 and #2 teams, Pope High School and Marist.
