FROM 800 CHAMPION TO THE 400
North Adams keeps showing up
On Mar 30 at the Georgetown Vern Hawkins Invitational, Beau Hesler ran a 10.73 in the 100 and a 21.71 in the 200. Eden Bosko threw the discus 110-0. Bella Gray high jumped 5-3.5 for a PR. Three North Adams athletes, each one producing what would become a season-defining mark.
Hesler won the OHSAA D3 State Championships in the 800 last June at 1:51.78. This spring he is running the 400. The 46.59 that made him first in Ohio came at OHSAA D4 Districts, where he also won the 100 in 11.01 and the 200 in 21.98. His 800 of 1:53.62 sits 7th in Ohio, his 200 sits 16th, his 100 sits 27th. He was 3rd at OHSAA D3 State in the 800 as a sophomore in 2024 at 1:55.46 before winning it outright in 2025. The transition from defending state champion in one event to first in Ohio in a completely different one isn't something you see every day!
Bosko started throwing the discus in 2023 at 89-1. She threw 118-9 in 2024. She threw 122-1 in 2025. This spring her PR is 143-1.5, thrown at the West Union High School Invitational on Apr 14, 8th in Ohio. Each year defined by steady progress, and a longer throw. Her younger sister Ellie Bosko (2028) is already throwing 120-10, 86th in Ohio - further than Eden threw in 2024.
Bella Gray competed at the OHSAA D3 State Championships in the high jump last June at 5-2 and finished 9th. This spring she is a sophomore with a PR of 5-3.5 -- from Georgetown Vern Hawkins in March, the same meet where Hesler and Bosko put up their own best marks of the spring -- and is 49th in Ohio in the event. She also runs the 300 hurdles at 50.22 and the 100 at 13.26.
The rest of the roster runs across every event. Coy Fogle (2026) is 55th in Ohio in the 300 hurdles at 39.55. Ellie Bosko (2028) is 86th in the discus at 120-10. Mia Kingsley (2027) is 333rd in the shot put at 33-0.5. Dalton Pence (2026) runs an 800 of 2:03.93. Kaleb Eldridge (2026) high jumps 5-8. Ian Raines (2027) runs the 300 hurdles at 44.18.
