Beavercreek High School senior, Sydney Leiher, has chosen to continue her academic and athletic career at Syracuse University. Leiher is the defending Division 1 Champion in the 1600m Run. Leiher also placed fourth in the 2000m Steeplechase at the 2012 New Balance Outdoor National Meet.
Leiher had the leading mark in the state last year in both the 2000m Steeplechase (7:06.32) and the 1600m Run (4:49.61) and her 1600m time is the 11th best returning time in the nation. Leiher has the top returning time in Ohio in the 3200m with a mark of 10:43.30, and the second best returning time in the state in the 800m (2:11.22).
