Waverly senior, Dylan Dyke, has chosen to continue his academic and athletic careers at the Ohio State University. Dyke has ammassed a total of 9 top three finishes in major championship meets throughout his high school career, including five first place finishes, one second place finish and three third place finishes. Dylan is the defending Indoor (D2/3) and Outdoor (D2) State Champion in the Shot Put as well as the Weight Throw (D2/3).
Dyke owns a personal record of 68-3 in the weight throw, which is the third best returning throw in Ohio as well as the fifth best returning throw in the nation. In the shot put, Dylan owns the top returning Indoor Shot Put mark in Ohio at 60-1, and the second best mark nationally, as well as the third best Outdoor Shot Put mark at 61-5 in Ohio, which is the fifth best mark nationally. Dylan set a personal best of 175-1 in the Discus at the Wayne Invitational, which is the 9th best returning mark in the state. Dyke also owns a personal best mark of 178-0 in the hammer, which he has thrown twice, once at the Criss and Rita Somerlot Field Event Classic and at the OHRunners Ohio High School Hammer Championship, and is the fourth best returning mark in the state.
