Great athletes, great coaches, great fans and great weather made the 107th Annual Boys and 40th Annual Girl’s State Track & Field Meet at Jesse Owens Stadium a memorable one. 104 Champions stood atop the podium in all three divisions. The two days saw seven new Stadium records, seven Division records and two All Time Ohio records, including a US #1 time over the two day meet. Here is a look at your new record holders and a few other memorable performances. Congratulations to our State Champions and to all of our athletes.

Regionals saw a new D2 State Pole Vault record as Allyson Simmons of Fairless vaulted 13-1.25. She will be back to defend her State title. The girl’s 1600 features the #2, 4, 8 and 14th ranked runners in the State. The 400 features the #2, 8, 9, 11 and 12th ranked runners in the State. So. The D1 girls competition at the 2014 Ohio State Track & Field Championships has several returning standouts including a pair of juniors in distance runner Annie Heffernan of St. Ursula (Cincinnati) and sprinter Karrington Winters of New Albany. If like pole vault, a must see event in the Division 1 girls pole vault championship with four girls over 12 feet at the regional meets.
Watch for the Pickerington North team to make a strong run at the State Team championship. The team is led by Jr. Nick Gray who has State best leading times in the 100 (10.69). The 200 (21.00) and the 400 (47.41). He won all three at Regionals and anchored a very strong 4x400 (3:16.76) with an under 48 leg. Here's a look at each event.
