Week In Review: Conference Week

We just wrapped up the start of the most exciting three weeks in Ohio High School Cross Country.  For the next two Saturdays teams will toe the line in hopes of advancing to the next round, while some will rejoice in running another week, others will be left wondering what they could have done to extend their season.  In a short three weeks we will find out who is the best and who were just pretenders.  Let the State Tournament begin. But first let's take a look back at this past weeks conference meets.

Alex Thornburg of St. Clairsville took home the medalist honors by finishing the 5k course in a time of 16:11.  Team wise though, Thornburg's victory wasn't enough for St. Clairsville to hold off St. John Central, who put 5 runners in the top 15 to capture the title over St. Clairsville, 42-55.

 

On the ladies side, St. Clairsville won the meet by 105 points over Harrison Central, 29-134.  St. Clairsville was able to go 1-3-4-5, with Kelly Perzanowski winning the race in a time of 18:39.

Luke Holubeck of St. John Central lead his team to the overall title by finishing third overall and tops in the A division with a time of 16:24.

 

Sarah Kosky was the top finisher in a time of 20:09 and lead St. John Central to being the top team in the A division

 

AA

Barnesville was the top finishing team in the AA Division while Jeremy Anderson of Fort Frye was the top finisher in the division while finishing second overall with a time of 16:19.

 

Wheeling Central Catholic (WV) was the low scoring team in the AA Division, while Sarah Biehl of Fort Frye was the top finisher in 19:56.

 

AAA

Alex Thornburg of St. Clairsville  was the top finisher in this division and the overall winner.  St. Clairsville finished runner up overall and was the top AAA division team.

 

St. Clairsville was the top finishing team and was lead by overall medalist Kelly Perzanowski.

 

AAAA

Wheeling Park (WV) was the top placing team and was lead by the top finisher in the AAAA division, Logan Wojick, who finished in 16:44.

 

Maggie MciIvain of East Liverpool was the top finisher in the AAAA Division by finishing in a time of 20:00 while Wheeling Park (WV) was the top placing team in this division.
